Stewardship Season at the Parish of Esher

It's Stewardship Season at the Parish of Esher. In a message to the congregation – entitled 'Growing Together in Faith, Hope and Love' – the Rector the Revd Darren McCallig wrote:

The ‘Growing Together’ document is my attempt to put into words something of what this Parish of Esher is all about – to look back over the unprecedented last eighteen months and to look to the future with confidence and conviction.

As I write in the pamphlet, I feel there's a renewed sense of purpose in the parish right now. Perhaps all that we have been through has given us a greater appreciation of the immense blessing of being part of a Christian community. I sense too that there’s a deeper awareness of the distinctive gifts we have received and which, in turn, we offer: a thoughtful Faith, a hard-won Hope, a generous Love.

And so I ask you, please, to read the attached and consider how you might respond. This focus on the stewardship of the parish finances will continue until the Feast of Christ the King, Sunday 21 November. On that day we will hold a celebratory ‘Songs of Praise’ type service in Christ Church at 4.00pm; so please mark your diary and return any completed response forms by that date.

I am immensely proud of how the parish pulled together since the first days of lockdown, innovating and adapting, serving and praying. And I know this is just the beginning of all that – by the grace of God – we can do in the years to come.
