Music on the Green concert: Judith Spencer, marimba

A marimba?  A marimba is a percussion instrument which is essentially a set of wooden bars struck with mallets to produce sounds of remarkable resonance.  It will be more familiar to you than expected as it has featured with Herb Albert, the Rolling Stones, Elton John and in the opening sequences of Mamma Mia

Judith Spencer is a graduate of the Royal College of Music of international repute and believes that the versatility of the marimba is endless and speaks to all people where words alone will not penetrate.
