A favourite with all ages, this service gets its name from the Christingle oranges which are used to explore the story of God’s love for the world at Christmas. It’s a truly magical moment when the candles are lit and the lights are dimmed, reminding us of that Light which no darkness can ultimately overcome.

Songs of Praise

Songs of Praise
Sunday 21 November 2021, 4pm

On Sunday 21 November at 4pm we will hold a very special service at Christ Church. The seven most popular hymns – as chosen by your votes – will be sung by the choir and congregation. This ‘Songs of Praise’ style service will be a celebratory end to our stewardship season.

Please print out the attached ballot paper, complete and return via email to the Parosh Office or pick up and complete a ballot paper in church and post into the ballot box.

Voting ends on Sunday 14 November.

For our last regular lunchtime concert of the year, we welcome three talented musicians from the Royal Academy of Music. They will treat us to one of the consummate chamber music works for the French horn, Brahms’ magnificent Horn Trio in E flat, coupled with Ravel’s 1st Violin Sonata and three delightful miniature works by the French composer Charles Koechlin.

The Remembrance Sunday service will start with a short Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial on Esher Green at 10.50am followed by the main service in Christ Church. 

As large numbers are expected to attend the Christ Church indoor service, we ask, please, that those attending wear a face covering, unless exempt.
