Diphonon Duo

This young duo, from Greece and Spain, met in 2015 at the Royal Academy of Music. Their unique pairing of timbres works well as both instruments can sustain sound for a long time and vary their colour and intensity. 

The duo aim to take their audience on a journey through space and time, with a programme reflecting dances, rhythms and songs from around the world.

Covid Regulations after 19 July – A Message from the Rector

My dear friends,

As you know, the Government has announced the lifting of most Covid-19 related legal restrictions from Monday 19 July. This is a move which will be both a relief and a cause of anxiety. In particular, many of those who are ‘clinically extremely vulnerable’ or not in the best of health will be apprehensive about these changes, as will their loved ones.

Our concert was due to feature the delightful combination of flute and harp however sadly our flautist, Mark Taylor, has had to isolate.  However, we are happy to say the harpist, Gabriella Jones, has kindly offered to give a solo harp recital, with a programme including works by Scarlatti, Debussy, Rachmaninov and Liszt.

The Laefer Quartet

This prize-winning and dynamic saxophone quartet, formed in 2012 at the Royal College of Music, are experienced in a wide variety of genres but specialise in contemporary classical repertoire and transcriptions. They have performed at the Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room and St John’s Smith Square, as well as abroad. Their Esher concert will include works by Stravinsky and Ravel.
